Vietnam e-Visa Portal Moved: Use evisa.gov.vn (Not the Old Domain)
✍️ wicwic editorial team · verified Sep 24, 2026
What changed
Since November 2024, the official Vietnam e-Visa portal has operated on the new domain evisa.gov.vn (English) / thithucdientu.gov.vn (Vietnamese). The official notice is posted on the legacy domain evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn itself, which is why many older guides, forum posts and browser bookmarks still point to the old address.
Nothing about the application itself changed: the fee remains USD 25 for single entry, the processing time is still around 3 working days, and applicants are advised to apply at least 3–5 working days before departure.
Why this matters
- Old links go stale. If you open an old-domain link, you may land on a legacy page instead of the live application system.
- Scam sites copy old designs. Agency sites charging USD 60–200 imitate the old portal's look and rank well for the old domain name. The only domains that matter end in
.gov.vn. - Bookmarks die quietly. If you saved the portal during a previous trip, delete the old bookmark and save the new one.
How to apply safely in 2026
- Type evisa.gov.vn directly into the address bar — don't click search ads.
- Check the URL bar shows the padlock and a
.gov.vndomain before entering passport details or paying. - Pay only the official fee (USD 25 single entry). Anything much higher means you are on a reseller site.
- Verify your e-Visa PDF when it arrives and carry a printed copy.
